Designed and crafted with masterful skill by Italian artisans in Sorrento, Italy, using centuries-old techniques handed down through generations, this exquisite music box is made of burled wood, with a matte finish, inlaid with a floral design around the sides and on the lid. The scalloped shape of this exceptional music box resembles the swirling lines of the skirt of the lady who dances with her partner in the design inlaid on the center of the lid. The upper and lower edges of the box are painted black, beautifully framing and emphasizing the intricate scalloped shape of this oval box. When the lid is lifted, Vivaldi's "Spring" plays. Plush, ivory-colored velvet lines the two inner compartments, one for storing jewelry and the other containing the musical movement. The box rests on four brass feet and measures 10-1/2" wide x 6-3/4" deep x 2-1/2" high.
