This magnificent musical egg was inspired by a gift from the Czar of Russia in 1907 to his wife of a Faberge egg, known as the Rose Trellis Easter Egg, to celebrate the birth of their son. A golden, crystal-encrusted trellis design crisscrosses the chartreuse metal egg to create diamond-shaped frames for pearly-pink roses. Large, clear, multifaceted, crystals embedded on the top and bottom of the egg resemble the diamonds that decorated the original egg. The egg rests on a golden 3-footed pedestal. Wind a key inside the velvet-lined interior of the egg to play an excerpt from "Swan Lake. Measures 4-1/4" high x 2-1/2" in diameter (including the stand).
