With scalloped edges, the hinged lid lifts to reveal a ring-holder on a pedestal, that rotates to "Pachelbel's Canon in D" when the key underneath the egg is wound to activate the music. Resting atop a golden metal, three-legged pedestal. the egg measures 5-1/2" high x 2-1/2" in diameter.
