INTERNET GIFT SITE POSTS 220% GROWTH IN QUARTERLY SALES

(ALEXANDRIA, VA - July 27, 1998) Sales for the Netique Internet Gift Boutique (netique.com) shot up 220% for the 2nd quarter of 1998. Monthly traffic at the site in June 1998 rose 415% over monthly traffic in June 1997. Spending very little on paid advertising, Netique generated its growth primarily through free internet promotional techniques.

Netique, which sells its products exclusively through the internet, just released these and other internet shopping statistics. Statistics for June 1, 1997 through May 31, 1998 showed male customers outnumbering female customers (61% male compared with 39% female). Gifts purchased for women outnumbered gifts purchased for men by two to one.

Mother's Day ranked as the biggest special occasion for internet gift-giving during the 12-month time period. Christmas and Valentines placed 2nd and 3rd as the busiest gift-giving special occasions. Customer purchases from Netique averaged $75.00 per shopper.

Where did customers live? The largest number (11.6%) hailed from California, followed by other top-selling states Texas (8.3%), Florida (6.5%), New York (6.5%), and Maryland (5.8%).
